Shannan Goodwin - Registered Psychologist Shannan has been working as a psychologist for ten years working mostly with families.  She provides an in home service where she supports families with behavioural strategies to improve the functioning and relationships in the home.  She also works with schools to better understand children and make small adjustments to reduce stress and anxiety for the children.  She has had extensive experience working with families and the autism spectrum.   Shannan's philosophy is first and foremost to understand an individual and their particular personality. What drives and inspires them, what challenges them and presents them with anxiety and anger. Once she understands how they process the world they live in, then she works with the community surrounding the individual to see the reasons for their behaviour. From this platform we can begin to learn new skills. Shannan stands by the belief that children do not use behaviours to be "naughty" - they often have the most honest and genuinely positive intention, however to others it comes across as all backwards and upside down. So she works to help others understand the motives of children, and then work with the children and carers to learn new skills. Her ultimate aim is for them to feel true to themselves, but also be understood and appreciated by the community around them.    - Please note that Shannan's books are currently full & we are seeking another passionate and experienced psychologist to join the team! -
